So... when my vacuum finally died, I was sad only because I hated to shell out $100+ for another inferior, clunky piece of junk that I would rarely use. This Dirt Devil Dynamite II Compact Bagless Upright Vacuum is for people who, like me, appreciate function over frivality (is 'frivality' a word? Oh well). It's small, so if you have a huge house full of carpets, maybe not your best choice.

It doesn't have settings for floor, carpet height, etc- but it works so well, you won't miss them. The pros- it's lightweight, easy to manuever, affordable, bagless (which I very much prefer) with an easy to empty canister, super easy to assemble and use, and most importantly, it WORKS! I vacuumed my area rug, which I thought was relatively clean, and instantly filled up the canister with an incredible amount of filth.

By the third time I went over the carpet, it had picked up every last piece of cat hair and dust, and was now picking up only the semi-loose nap on the carpet! Amazing! Buy one. A month or so ago I received the Dirt Devil Dynamite II Compact Bagless Upright Vacuum as a present although I had a full sized upright bagless that weighed a ton. The Dirt Devil cleans so much better than my old machine and is easy to empty too.

We have one dog; the Dirt Devil Dynamite II Compact Bagless Upright Vacuum picks up all the dog hair where the bigger vacuum would leave hair that was still visible on the floor. It has more sucking power that out much more expensive Sears vacuum and does a better job cleaning. The price is great for a small machine that does a big job cleaning.

Virtually one pass and even imbedded pet hair was gone with this little dynamo. Very impressive for such a small/lighweight vacuum. The collection canister is a decent size; I accidently filled waaay beyond the "max line" but didn't notice the slightest difference in suction. Thanks to those who take the time to review, it really helps us all.
